Syria and Iran play an important role in the West Asian region, says Kanaani

Tehran, (ST) – Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanaani affirmed that Syria and Iran have long-standing relations that play an important role in the West Asian region.

Kanaani said during his weekly press conference on Monday that the relations between Damascus and Tehran are ancient, and have a history to be proud of. He pointed out that the visit that Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi will pay to Syria confirms the depth of these relations.

Kanaani stressed that his country, just as it stood by the friendly country Syria during the war on terror, today announces its support with all its technical and engineering capabilities, and participation in the reconstruction phase.
