Tishreen University signs three agreements with Slovak universities to enhance scientific and research cooperation

On April 29th, Tishreen University signed three agreements with Slovak universities of economics, technology and agriculture, to enhance and develop cooperation in the scientific, academic and research fields, and exchange experiences, studies, visits and future projects.

Dr. Bassam Hassan, Rector of Tishreen University, signed the agreements in the Slovakian capital, Bratislava yesterday and gave a detailed presentation on the history of Tishreen University, its programs and projects, and the nature of its work.

He stressed that the illegal economic measures imposed by Washington and the West on Syria affect the lives of the Syrian people and hinder ways to overcome the repercussions of the earthquake.

Professor Ferdinand Ferro, Rector of the Slovak University of Economics, stressed the importance of cooperation and coordination with Tishreen University in various fields, and his university’s readiness to provide what is necessary to enhance, develop and upgrade cooperation.

Ferro condemned the Western coercive economic measures imposed on the Syrian people, noting that they have negatively affected the fields of education, medicine and various other sectors of life, calling on the international community to immediately lift them.

He also expressed his pride in the presence of Syrian students in Slovak universities.

Professor Oliver Moravitek, Rector of the University of Technology, condemned the Western measures imposed on the Syrian people, stressing that they have led to the suffering of the Syrians.

Moravitik stressed the importance of communication and coordination between his university and Tishreen University, especially in the field of exchanging studies, experiences and visits, to reach the required scientific level.

He noted the ancient history of Syrian universities and the efforts of Syrian students studying in Slovak universities in academic achievement.

The Rector of the Slovak Agricultural University also condemned the Western measures, and called for their lifting and non-politicization of the issue of aid.

In turn, Dr. Ali Asaad, head of the National Union of Syrian Students branch in Slovakia, stressed the importance of communication, coordination, and exchange of visits and experiences between universities in Syria and Slovakia, in order to rise the scientific level that the two friendly peoples aspire to.

He appreciated the role and efforts of Slovak universities in supporting Syrian students and providing them with knowledge.
