Tunisian President appoints new ambassador to Syria

Tunisian President Kais Saied appointed Mohammed Al Mudhabi as Ambassador Extraordinary to Tunisia in Syria.

In a statement, the Presidency of the Republic of Tunisia stated that President Saied oversaw in Carthage Palace the handover of credentials to Mohamed Al-Muhathabi as Ambassador Extraordinary and Commissioner of the Republic of Tunisia to the Syrian Arab Republic.

During last week’s meeting in Tunis with Syria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Faisal Al-Mikdad, President Saied stressed the importance of unifying Arab attitudes in the face of all challenges facing the Arab countries.

Saied stressed that Tunisia’s position is firm as regards to defending the sovereignty and independence of all Arab States and the return of Arab-Arab relations to their past sityation based on rapproachement and respect for the priorities that bring together the people of this nation.

The appointment ceremony was attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration of Tunisia Nabil Amar who earlier this month, during a telephone call with Minister Al-Mikdad, confirmd the Tunisian leadership’s decision to strengthen the representation of the Embassy of the Republic of Tunisia in Damascus and appoint an ambassador there.
