Syria and Iran discuss prospects of cooperation in the fields of labor and social affairs 

The Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Louay Imad Eddin Al Munajjed discussed with the Iranian Deputy Minister of Economy and the Chairman of the Iranian Investment Authority Ali Fikri, prospects of joint cooperation and ways to develop and activate bilateral relations in the fields of labor and social affairs.

The two sides also discussed ways to benefit from the Iranian experience in issues related to social protection networks, small projects, support of needy families, entrepreneurship projects and business incubators.

Al Munajjed stressed the importance of benefiting from the technical experience of the Iranian side to help restructure the social protection system in Syria. He also stressed the importance of adopting digital transformation in the ministry’s work, pointing to the need to continue the cooperation and communication between the technical teams to reach common understanding formulas and translate them as soon as possible.

For his part, Fikri stressed the readiness of the Iranian side to provide full technical support for Syria, by transferring the Iranian expertise in the fields related to strengthening social protection in Syria.
