3300 Hectares Cultivated With Cotton in Hasakah

Hasakah farmers continue to cultivate their lands with the cotton crop in implementation of the agricultural plan for this year. The area cultivated with the strategic cotton crop has so far reached 3300 hectares until now.

Head of the Plant Production Department in the Directorate of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform in Al Hasakah, Eng. Jalal Bilal, stated to SANA reporter that the cultivation of the strategic crop continues since the beginning of April until the mid May.

Farmers cultivate cotton as a main summer crop in the areas of agricultural stability , where constant water resources are available, he said, adding that the farmers also cultivate summer vegetables crops to secure their needs

The area planned to be planted with the cotton crop in Hasakah for the current season is 6800 hectares.
