Defense Minister visits army formations in Syria’s southern region

Damascus- On the occasion of Eid Al-Fitr, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Army and Armed Forces, Defense Minister, Major Gen. Ali Mahmoud Abbas, accompanied by several officers, on Friday visited one of the army formations in the country’s southern region.

The minister’s visit aims at inspecting the situation of the combat forces in this area and at conveying President Al-Assad’s congratulations to the army personnel and their families on Eid Al-Fitr.

The minister also visited the wounded army personnel at Tishreen Military Hospital in Damascus and wished them a speedy recovery. He was briefed on the medical services the wounded soldiers are receiving to get better.

For his part, the Chief of the General Staff of the Army and the Armed Forces, General Abdul Karim Mahmoud Ibrahim, visited the army units in their positions on the line of confrontation with the terrorists in Idlib province.

He was briefed on the combat missions the military units in this area are carrying out to maintain the homeland security and stability.
