Brazilian foreign minister: crisis in Syria should be settled by the Syrians themselves

MOSCOW- Brazilian Foreign Minister Luiz Alberto Figueiredo praises highly Russia’s role in the resolution of the crisis in Syria, according to ITAR TASS.

“I would like to note the achievements of the Russian government and Minister Lavrov for the role that Russia plays in the resolution of the crisis in Syria,” he said after the negotiations with the Russian foreign minister. “This role contributes to the fact that new areas of dialogue between the Syrian parties to the conflict were opened,” the Brazilian foreign minister said.

“We know that a military solution to the crisis in Syria is impossible,” the minister noted. “It should be settled by the Syrians themselves. And we as members of the international community should provide conditions for different forces in Syria to come to terms and to conduct negotiations with the government,” he said.
