Moscow (ST): The Russian Foreign Ministry considered that what was mentioned about the South Kuril Islands in the “Japanese Blue Book” as trivial absurdities, stressing that these islands are an integral part of Russia.
In a statement reported by Sputnik today, the Russian Foreign Ministry indicated that Japan regularly defines in the Blue Book of foreign policy its so-called legal position, which reflects unfounded claims against Russia, pointing out that the wording about illegal occupation has been used before.
The ministry added, “We consider such nonsense to be insignificant, as the South Kuril Islands are an integral part of the territory of the Russian Federation on legal grounds, including international ones, according to the results of World War II, and this is a fact that Japan cannot escape from.”
