Regional office of the Arab Union for Electronic Trade opened in Syria’s Homs

Damascus (ST): The regional office of the Arab Union for Electronic Commerce in Syria signed a cooperation agreement with the Homs Chamber of Commerce to open a branch in Homs.

The agreement, which was signed at the office’s headquarters in the Free Zone in Damascus, included work to disseminate the culture of electronic commerce by establishing a branch of the office in Homs through regular workshops and training courses by experts and academics in the required fields.

The two sides agreed to cooperate to launch an e-trade platform with the aim of sowing the seed of the digital economy in Homs and linking the product to the consumer, provided that the platform transcends the Syrian geographical borders in marketing its economy and benefiting from the markets of the countries belonging to the Arab Federation for Electronic Commerce, namely of Lebanon, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan and the Sultanate of Oman.

In a statement, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Regional Office of the Arab Federation for Electronic Commerce in Syria, Dr. Muhammad Pharaon, explained the importance of the agreement, as it comes within a plan to open branches in the rest of the governorates and achieve its goals in deepening electronic culture and introducing all the necessary tools to accelerate the wheel of digital transformation.
