Army makes more gains

Provinces, (ST)– Units of the armed forces  on Wednesday continued their mop-up operationsthat resulted in killing scores of terrorists , destroyed their weapons and foiling their infiltration attempts in several areas nationwide.

In Damascus Countryside, an army unit killed members of an armed terrorist group that infiltrated into al-Bassel Hospital in Deir-Attiyeh.

“an armed terrorist group infiltrated Wednesday morning into the Hospital and tried to sabotage its equipment before army units moved them out and declared  the Hospital’s personnel safe, “an official source told the official news agency.

Earlier, two suicide terrorists blew up two car bombs at the entrance of the Hospital, claiming the lives of a number of guards at the Hospital’s checkpoint.

In Daraa,once more, the army units made a significant gain as they fully controlled the town of KherbatGhader al-Bustan in Daraa western countryside after eliminating the last of the terrorists’ groupings.

Other unit made an ambush where  a number of terrorists on Tseil-Nawa road and al-Sheikh Miskeen,Otman, Um al-Mayazen and Daraa al-Balad,Inkhiland al-Mukhayam area were killed and others injured.

In Idleb, an army unit clashed with terrorists in the areas of Maarat-shamseh, Talminis and Maarat-shoureen in Maarat al-Numan countryside, killing large numbers of terrorists.

In Homs Countryside,s units of the armed forces in cooperation with the border guard personnel eliminated a big number of terrorists who tried to infiltrate from Lebanon across al-Haswani, al-Mathomeh and al-Qaa sites, while the others fled back into Lebanon.

The terrorists’ groupings and hideouts were destroyed in al-Zara grove, al-Khaldiyeh,al-Ghasbiyeh, al-Amriyeh and Talbiseh.

Meanwhile, a number of citizens were injured in terrorist attacks by mortar shells on al-Ashrafieh village in Talbiseh countryside.
