A solidarity stand in front of the Red Cross headquarters in Damascus to support Palestinian prisoners in the occupation jails

Damascus-(ST) – “Mohjat Al-Quds Foundation” for the Martyrs, Prisoners, and Wounded, the Committee for the Defense of Palestinian Prisoners and Detainees in Israeli Occupation Prisons and the Palestinian resistance factions on Tuesday organized a solidarity stand in front of the headquarters of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Damascus in support of the steadfastness of Palestinian prisoners in the Zionist occupation jails.

In a statement delivered to the ICRC delegation, the participants in the stand demanded international protection for the Palestinian prisoners from the crimes of the occupation authorities. They also called for implementing all Geneva agreements related to the rights of prisoners in war circumstances and for the abolishing the arbitrary measures taken by the occupation authorities against the prisoners.

The participants pointed out that the Palestinian Prisoner’s Day, which falls on the 17th of April, coincides this year with the escalation of the occupation’s aggressive practices against the prisoners.

The participants also called for visiting the prisoner, Kheder Adnan, who suffers from vision impairment, weight loss, and vomiting of blood.

All these clinical signs confirm a threat to his life, which necessitates urgent intervention, and pressure on the occupation authorities to release him, the participants pointed out.

After receiving the statement, the Head of the ICRC delegation in Syria, Christophe Martin said that the ICRC is doing its best to ensure that the families of the prisoners visit their children and inform the family of their health condition.

Martin stressed that it will take into account the points mentioned in the statement and will share them with those concerned, thanking the participants in the stand for trusting the International Committee of the Red Cross.
