The National Center for Earthquakes: 12 light tremors recorded in the past 24 hours

Damascus (ST): The National Earthquake Center announced that its stations recorded during the past 24 hours 12 light tremors of less than 4.3 degrees on the Richter scale.

The Center stated in its Facebook announcement that among the earthquakes recorded were in eastern Hama 69 km with a magnitude of 2.5, and north of Lattakia with a distance of 22 km with a magnitude of 2.2, and 7 tremors in Iskenderun with a magnitude of between 2.3 and 3.2, and 3 tremors in the Turkish mainland with a magnitude of between 2.6. and 4.2 degrees.

The intensity of tremors and earthquakes is measured by an index ranging between 1 and 10 degrees, where from 1 to 4 is light, no damage occurs and can only be felt, while from 4 to 6 degrees the earthquake causes medium damage, and damage to buildings, and from 7 to 10 is of its maximum degree. It could destroy an entire city.
