Lattakia , (ST) – During his meeting with the head of Al-Farabi Humanitarian Foundation in Kazakhstan Ikmaral Batalova and her accompanying delegation, the Governor of Lattakia Amer Hilal discussed various aspects of support, and mechanism of benefiting from the humanitarian assistance provided by Kazakhstan.
The discussions focused on the kind of the provided assistance, particularly medicines and electric generators and on the distribution of relief materials to those affected by the earthquake.
Batalova said in a statement to reporters after the meeting: “following my previous visit to Syria which was accompanied by humanitarian aid shipment provided by the Kazakh government, and after seeing the massive damage caused by the earthquake, contacts were signed with civil society associations and charitable funds to provide additional support to help meet some needs and alleviate the suffering of earthquake-affected people”.
Batalova added: “We collected humanitarian aid from the local community and the people who participated in providing food and clothes, and everything that could help those affected in such difficult circumstances. In addition, the aid includes electric generators, tents and medicines that were collected in cooperation with humanitarian and charitable organizations.
Batalova’s visit to Lattakia governorate aims at delivering a second shipment of aid provided by the people and the local community in Kazakhstan to those affected by the earthquake, and it includes tents, medicines, relief materials and food.
