A Syrian-Iraqi meeting to enhance joint action in the industrial field

The Iraqi Minister of Industry and Minerals, Khaled Batal Al-Najm, discussed on Wednesday with the Syrian Ambassador to Iraq, Sattam Jad’an Al-Dandah, means of enhancing cooperation between the two countries in various industrial fields.

The Iraqi Ministry of Industry and Minerals said in a statement on Tuesday that “the two sides discussed the possibility and mechanisms of cooperation and joint work in various industrial fields, especially the spinning, weaving and leather industries, and the establishment of a joint industrial city between Syria and Iraq.”

The statement indicated that the meeting reviewed the achievements of the joint Iraqi-Syrian committee during the previous years.

According to the statement, Al-Najm praised the strong fraternal relations between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples, and the expertise that Syria possesses in various industries, expressing readiness for continuous coordination to enhance future prospects of industrial cooperation.

In turn , Ambassador Al-Dandah affirmed Syria’s desire to cooperate with Iraq, through the establishment of promising projects that serve the industry and interest of both countries.

Al-Dandah said in a statement to SANA reported that the two sides discussed the advantages provided by the investment law to develop the Syrian-Iraqi bilateral cooperation .

He pointed out that that the historical relations between the two brotherly peoples represent motivating factors for the establishment of joint industrial projects.
