The Ministry of Culture Honors The Winners of The State Encouragement Award For The Year 2022

In appreciation of their intellectual efforts and their literary and artistic production, the Ministry of Culture celebrated the winners of the State Encouragement Award for the year 2022, the poet Dr. Maram Al Nisr in the field of literature and Maestro Andre Maalouli in the field of arts.

The Minister of Culture Dr. Labana Mashouh presented the winners with the commemorative medals, in the presence of a judging committee, as she confirmed in a statement to SANA that the aim of the award is to honor and encourage the creators to continue their creativity, to develop thought and society.

Dr. Labana Mushaouh explained that the award was given to Dr. Maram Al Nisr, a graduate of the faculty of Medicine, who has proven her presence in the literary and poetic arena. She participated in many festivals and competitions, and won many awards. The Award also was given to Maestro Andre Maalouli, leader of an orchestra and many musical groups, who has a long history in teaching many musicians.

In turn, maestro Maalouli stressed that the honor inside the motherland is unique and has a great impact on him. This award adds a lot to his artistic career and motivates him to add other works for the benefit of Syrian culture in order to export it abroad, in a way that befits the great Syrian legacy.

Dr. Al Nisr expressed her happiness with this award which sheds light on the young talents, indicating that gaining this  award bears her a great responsibility and opens the horizon for her to participate in other Arab and international competitions.

Dr. Ismaeel Maroa, a member of the judging committee of the State Encouragement and Appreciation Award, explained that the works are submitted to the committee which in turn studies and evaluates the works and sets specific grades. Then the committee chooses the best work according to high standards . So that the critical analysis  award was withheld this year because it did not achieve the required standards.

It is to be noted that the State Encouragement and Appreciation Awards were created by Legislative Decree No. 11 of 2012 in the field of literature and arts for creators, thinkers, and artists, in appreciation of their creative, intellectual, and artistic giving.
