Polyansky: Russia will chair the UN Security Council impartially

On April 2nd, Russia’s deputy permanent representative to the United Nations, Dmitry Polyansky, confirmed that his country will be an honest broker during its presidency of the UN Security Council, stressing that any attempts to provoke Moscow are doomed to failure.

Polyansky said in a post on the Telegram channel: “The presidency of the UN Security Council moved to Russia for a month, and thus all our spiteful enemies and critics  were shamed and disgraced.”

Polyansky noted that the United Nations is committed to international law and rules of procedures that have been developed over many decades, and it isn’t  based on the rules-based order that the West is trying to impose in place of international law.

Polyansky stressed that Russia will preside over the Security Council with integrity, and as befits presidents, we will be honest mediators as we were in 2022 when the special military operation began in Ukraine during our presidency of the Council at the time.

Polyansky reaffirmed that any attempts to provoke Moscow are doomed to failure.

The US media had earlier  launched a media campaign against Russia’s presidency of the UN Security Council during the month of April.
