Tunisia (ST): The Ministry of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform participated in a joint technical workshop between it and the Tunisian Ministry of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fishing in the capital, Tunis, within the framework of implementing the livestock development project plan.
The Director of Animal Production at the Ministry of Agriculture, Dr. Osama Hammoud, stated that the workshop included presenting ideas and exchanging experiences in the field of the livestock sector, in terms of business strategies and implementation plans, indicating that during the workshop, through an extensive program of field tours, the participants were briefed on the Tunisian experience in Animal health systems framework, feed provision, joint professional pool for red meat and dairy, genetic improvement programs and artificial insemination, fattening and feed grants, and project incubators.
According to Dr. Hammoud, the workshop also included visits to the National Institute for Agricultural Scientific Research, the Training Agency, and the Feed Analysis Laboratory, in addition to visiting some Tunisian breeders with success stories in the field of integrated animal production projects and learning about their experiences.
