On March 29th, the Syrian national team player, weightlifter Ahmed Al-Shamaa, won a bronze medal for the 89 kg weight competition in the World Weightlifting Championship for the youth category under 17 years, which is currently being held in Albania.
The player, Mohammed Al-Kateb, achieved sixth place in the same championship in the 81 kg weight competition, and scored in the snatch lift of 128 kg and in the jerk lift of 161 kg, with a total of 289 kg, which is a new Syrian number for the youth category.
