Minister of Education opens the building of the General Establishment for Printing in Barzeh

Damascus, (ST) – Minister of Education, Dr. Darem Tabaa inaugurated the building of the General Establishment  for Printing in the Barzeh region, after it was rehabilitated from the damage caused by terrorism.

Minister Tabbaa also visited the new printing press building and the central book stores in Adra Industrial area.

After the tour, Minister Tabbaa attended the 44th session of the establishment’s Production Council during which he said that the General Printing Establishment is one of the leading institutions in Syria and it was subjected to vandalism by terrorists.

Tabbaa said that the printing press project in Adra Industrial City extends over a large area and it must reoprate to be used appropriately and in the light of the partnership with the private sector that the government undertakes in order to invest it and achieve revenue and save for the state treasury.

He indicated that the printing press project covers an area of 15 hectares, in addition to the central repositories of books, which are doing their part well.

The Director of the Public Institution for Printing Ali Abboud said that the Establishment is following up with the Military Construction Establishment the implementation of the printing press project in Adra through a contract that began in 2010, and is currently following up on its implementation according to a new vision for its investment and operation.
