Australian writer: The US continues to violate human rights, adopt interventionist policies

Canberra (ST) – Australian writer Caitlin Johnston criticized the stereotypical policy of interfering in the affairs of other countries pursued by the United States for decades to achieve certain goals or fabricating pretexts or misleading lies.

In this context, she referred to the hostile American practices toward Syria and other countries such as China and Russia.

In an article Johnston noted the continued illegal presence of the American occupation forces in Syria, and the false allegations and accusations made by Washington about Iran’s connection to the attack on the American bases in Syria, stressing that such allegations should not be taken into consideration.

This week, the US occupation forces launched an attack on some areas in Deir ez-Zor Governorate, which killed a number of people, injured others and caused material damage.

The spokesman for Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Keivan Khosravi affirmed that the US is trying to avoid the repercussions of its illegal occupation of part of Syria’s territory by making false accusations against Iran of attacking the illegal American bases.

Johnston ridiculed the claim of the US about defending freedoms and human rights while it is illegally present in countries all over the world including countries in the Middle East, indicating that the people of these countries have the absolute right to resist and expel the American occupation forces from their land.

She also stressed the responsibility for the death or injury of any American during the resistance operations in any country around the world is shouldered by Washington, simply because it placed them in the frame of colonial policies.

Johnston noted the policy of double standard that characterized successive US administrations, especially with regard to human rights, as they claim to defend freedoms and take this claim as a pretext to interfere in the affairs of other countries, but at the same time they overlook the violations and atrocities committed by them and their allies.

In this context, she pointed to the hostile policies of Washington toward China and its continuous attempts to interfere in its affairs.
