Russian Defense: Al-Nusra terrorists renew their attacks on safe areas in Idlib and Latakia

Moscow (ST): The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that terrorist organizations in the de-escalation zone have renewed their attacks on safe areas and points of the Syrian Arab Army in the countryside of Idlib and Latakia during the past 24 hours.

The deputy head of the Russian Coordination Center, Rear Admiral Oleg Gorinov, said in a statement that the terrorists of the organization (Al-Nusra Front) in the Idlib region carried out two mortar attacks on safe areas and points of the Syrian Arab Army in the countryside of Idlib and Latakia.

Terrorist groups are deployed in the city of Idlib and parts of its countryside, most of which are affiliated with the Al-Nusra Front organization, which is listed on the international terrorist list, and carry out repeated attacks on safe areas and army sites, resulting in martyrs, injuries, and material damage to public and private property.

The Russian military official also  pointed out to the increase in the blatant violations of the conflict resolution protocols and the bilateral memorandum on air safety in Syria by the so-called Washington International Coalition, and that it has begun to bear targeted directions and a systematic character.

Gorinov indicated that compared to last year, the number of violations related to drone flights and alleged coalition aviation has increased significantly, as since the beginning of 2023, 452 cases of such violations have been recorded.
