Deputy Head of Dagestan offers condolences to Syria over victims of earthquake

Deputy Head of Dagestan Republic Muhammed Omar Hajji Muhammed on Thursday visited the Syrian Embassy in Moscow where he met with Syria’s ambassador to Russia Bashar Al-Jaafari and offered condolonces, on behalf of Sergey Alimovich Melikov, Head of Dagestan Republic, to the Syrian people over the victims of the devastating earthquake that hit Syria on February 6th.

Accompanying aid convoy provided by the Dagestani people to the Syrians, Omar Muhammed stated, ‘The aid convoy is offered to the Syrian people under the auspices of the Head of Dagestan Republic.” He pointed out hat the convoy is loaded with 50 tons of humanitarian aid, namely, food and clothing.

Al-Jaafari, for his part hailed Dagestan’s delegation for the efforts exerted to send the humanitarian aid to the Syrian people.

He affirmed that the earthquake catastrophe has demonstrated that the Syrian-Dagestani ties are deeply rooted.
