An earthquake measuring 3.2 on the Richter scale hit Alexandretta
this morning.
The National Earthquake Center stated that the tremor occurred 40 km northwest of Idlib at 9:30 a.m. local time, with a depth of 17.9 km, at latitude 36.200 north and longitude 36.332 east.
In addition, the Center announced that the number of tremors that were recorded yesterday and until this morning reached 18, and their intensity ranged between weak to medium.
The Center stated that the stations of the national seismic monitoring network recorded two tremors, one of which is 14 km southeast of Latakia, and the other 31 km southwest of Latakia, 6 in Alexandretta, one in Cyprus, 8 in Turkey and a distant tremor.
The Center added: The tremors ranged between 1.9 and 4.1 degrees on the Richter scale, at different depths, reaching 37.9 km.
