Head of the Russian Duma: Providing Ukraine with depleted uranium missiles will lead to a global tragedy
Moscow, (ST) – Russian State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin has affirmed that supplying Ukraine with depleted uranium missiles could lead to a global tragedy that would hit Europe.
Volodin said that Washington used similar missiles in Yugoslavia and Iraq, which led to the contamination of the region and increased cancer cases among citizens.
Russian State Duma Speaker added: “If they (the missiles) are supplied to Ukraine, then a war to the last Ukrainian can become a war to the last European”, according to RT.
Volodin stressed that the outcome of this decision will be a global tragedy that will primarily affect the European countries and that there will be a point of no return if Ukraine is supplied with nuclear weapons.
Yesterday, British Deputy Defense Secretary Annabelle Goldie pledged to transfer depleted uranium ammunition to Ukraine.
