Information Minister: Syrian Army is Progressing on Whole Syrian Territory

DAMASCUS,(ST)_ Minister of Information Omranal-Zou’bi stressed that the Syrian Army is progressing in challenging terrorism on the whole Syrian territory and that the field scene on the ground has changed and is irreversible.

In an interview with the Syrian TV yesterday, al-Zou’bi said that ” The progress achieved by the army is clear on the ground in all directions the same as in the statements of the Western political , regional leaderships , supporting terrorists , in talking about the start of the collapse and disintegration of the terrorist project against Syria.”

He indicated that the Syrian army has been always able to achieve victory in the face of terrorism and is capable at all times to decide the battle , but wanted to avail the opportunity in many areas for civilians to come out ,and for some militants to change their minds and to resort to reconciliation and mediation efforts in some areas.
Al-Zou’bi stressed that the only option for the army in the face of terrorist murderers who came across the border to carry out massacres and attacks against the Syrians and their infrastructure , is confrontation whose findings and implications are manifested in achieving progress and victories.

He explained that states supporting terrorism in Syria , especially, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey have no other option but to continue supporting terrorists , a matter which has dangerous implications not only on Syria , but also on those countries and regional security.

Al-Zou’bi added that the Syrian government has always been adopting the political track that passes through national dialogue and leads to tangible results , and agreed to go to Geneva without conditions so as to follow a political path and find political solutions to be approved by the Syrian people in a general referendum .

“A debate will take place in Geneva on the road to Geneva statement issued on June 30 , 2012 ,” the minister explained , adding that the one who dreams that he is coming to Geneva to receive the keys to Damascus is someone silly , frivolous , of no value politically nor understands politics . “
He questioned the relationship between external opposition and the armed terrorist groups on the ground and whether they can demand them to stop killing and withdraw.
Al-Zou’bi stressed that the only solution for terrorism is to be eradicated and this is not the task of the Syrian government and its institutions , but also is an international responsibility as stated in UN resolutions and the Geneva statement which stressed the importance of countering terrorism by everyone.
” Israel has become a spokesman for some Gulf countries and that its interests are identical with the interests of Saudi Arabia because of the negotiations taking place between Iran and the Western countries ,” the minister said , pointing out that the relationship between the two sides is old but has been in secret for many reasons, but today this relationship is progressing and spotlighted because of the pressuring conditions and the acceleration of events .
Al-Zou’bi stressed that any positive step in the region, including the negotiations between Iran and Western countries will help to achieve stability in the region and serve its countries , not just Iran
