The Minister of Health discusses with the Palestinian Minister of Awqaf ways to enhance cooperation

Damascus  (ST): The Minister of Health, Dr. Hassan Al-Ghabbash, discussed with the Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs in Palestine Hatem Al-Bakri and his accompanying delegation, ways to enhance cooperation and the reality of the Syrian health sector after the earthquake that hit Syria last February.

In a statement to reporters, Dr. Al-Ghabbash explained that the Palestinian delegation provided aid related to the health sector, and it will be distributed in coordination with it, pointing out that this visit constitutes a great and added value and indicates the depth of relations between the two brotherly countries.

In his turn, Al-Bakri indicated that the visit comes as an affirmation of the depth of relations between the two countries, especially that Syria was present in all the details of the Palestinian cause and provided support and embraced the Palestinian people, which makes the Palestinians stand today with all their available capabilities on the side of the Syrian people after the natural disaster that befell their country. He indicated that a number of issues of concern to the Syrian health sector as well as the method and mechanism for continuous coordination and cooperation in this regard were discussed.

The meeting was attended by the Palestinian Ambassador to Syria, Samir Al-Rifai, the Assistant Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmed Damiriyeh, and a number of managers.

Moreover, Minister of Social Affairs and Labor Muhammad Saif al-Din, also discussed  with the Palestinian Minister of Awqaf the repercussions of the earthquake that struck the country, and the national campaign launched by the Palestinian people entitled (Help them) to collect donations, to support the Syrian people and meet their needs  in these circumstances.

Saif Al-Din expressed his thanks for the initiative of the Palestinian leadership and people, which reflects a patriotic and moral motive towards Syria, which has been the greatest supporter throughout history of the just causes of the Palestinian people, and embraced its children and gave them all the privileges of citizenship on its lands, stressing that Palestine will remain a Syrian compass until the Palestinian people regain their rights.

Minister Saif Al-Din pointed out that the effects of the terrorist war, the unjust siege that Syria was exposed to, and the catastrophe of the earthquake, exacerbated the deterioration of the economic and living conditions of the Syrian people.

For his part, Minister Al-Bakri stated that the Palestinian initiative is an expression of the Palestinian people’s loyalty and support for the Syrian leadership and people, which have supported and embraced the Palestinian people throughout history. He hoped that Syria will emerge from this ordeal, and that it will return strong and exercise its pioneering and pivotal role on the  Arab and Islamic arenas.
