Paris (ST): The leader of the French Patriots’ Party, Florian Filippo, expected that the French authorities would have to postpone their decision regarding the supply of heavy weapons to Ukraine, given the popular rejection of the French involvement in this conflict.
Filippo said in an interview with RIA Novosti: “I think that supplying Ukraine with heavy weapons is becoming an increasingly difficult issue for the French government, since the French, as we can see from opinion polls, are increasingly in favor of negotiations and are demanding a cessation of arms supplies to Kiev, this is in addition to the current situation. It is difficult in France, because of the issue of pensions and the crisis of the health care system.”
According to Filippo, many French people are already wondering why their country’s government does not have money for pensions when it sends money and military aid to Kiev.
Commenting on the possibility of French President Emmanuel Macron mediating between Russia and Ukraine, Filippo said: “I think that Macron has no real will to play this role. He can say one thing today, and tomorrow he says something completely opposite, as he is not serious.”
Filippo considered that France should withdraw from the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), since the alliance and the United States are the ones pushing Europe into a world war, adding: More French are tired of this race towards a third world war.
