Within the framework of the executive steps to preserve the historical neighborhood of Sarouja, Damascus governorate in cooperation with the Remote Sensing Commission and Damascus University launched work in topographic lifting of the neighborhood by means of a drone with the aim of maintaining its current situation.
Ali Al-Mubaiyed, member of the Executive Beureau of Damascus governorate, said that after completing the topographic lifting, a financial, legal and organizational plan will be studied to find solutions to all the problems that hinder preserving this neighborhood. This will be done in coordination with the ministries of culture, tourism, endowments, Damascus University and the local community.
He clarified that the neighborhood is one of the important historical places, and due to the existence of organizational problems, this survey was started to find solutions to these problems, especially because there are a number of houses that are about to fall, as a result of time and rain factors.
