The International Children’s Film Festival concluded at Dar al-Assad for Culture in Lattakia

The International Children’s Film Festival, launched by the Syrian Diplomatic Club, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, concluded on Tuesday its activities at the theatre stage of Dar Al-Assad for Culture in Lattakia. The festival was launched on the 5th of this month.

The festival witnessed the participation of eight countries: Bahrain, Brazil, Chile, Indonesia, Palestine, Pakistan, South Africa and Venezuela, in addition to Syria. According to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Brazil in Damascus Andre dos Santos, the festival aims to provide psychological support to children, especially after the earthquake disaster. The festival also aims to take the thoughts of children away from suffering in addition to giving children an idea about the countries of origin of these films.

The ambassador toured the Arab Cultural Center in Lattakia and presented five computers as a gift to the center, in addition to gifts for children. He affirmed that investment in childhood means investment in the future of the country, and this is what Syria and Brazil are well aware of and are working together to achieve.

The wife of the Brazilian Ambassador, Arlinda Santos, who delivered a speech at the end of the festival on behalf of the President of the Diplomatic Club, Radiante Fawzi, believed that the participation of films from around the world helps all exchange experiences regardless of their languages.

For his part, the Director of Education in Lattakia, Omran Abu Khalil, stated that the festival comes as part of the psychological support campaign launched by the Ministry to support those affected by the earthquake and to restore stability in the educational process in the affected areas through art, which plays a major role in building bridges of communication.
