“Syrian women Creativity” a handicraft exhibition in Damascus to empower women economically

Damascus (ST) – “Syrian women Creativity” is the title of the handicraft exhibition that was held on Monday on the occasion of International Women’s Day at the Arab Cultural Center in Kafarsouseh, Damascus.

The exhibition, which showcased a group of handicrafts, related to embroidery, knitting, wool weaving, accessories, and other artworks, aimed to enable women to find spaces for displaying and promoting their works and to sell these products so that they can support their families.

The supervisor of the exhibition, the Iraqi trainer, Zikra Ali, who has been living in Damascus since 20 years, pointed out that a number of the 15 women participating in the exhibition had previously held a vocational training course at the center, and they maintained their presence through work and production as a project to revive the ancient folklore.

The event comes within the framework of supporting women’s entrepreneurial projects and giving them the opportunity to introduce their products to society.

The participants indicated the importance of such exhibitions to help women find spaces to display their products, to prove that women are capable of securing a financial income that helps them face the burdens and difficulties of life and achieve their own projects.
