Israeli occupation’s practices in Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood violate the international law, says EU representative in occupied Palestinian territories

Occupied Al-Quds, (ST) – Representative of the European Union in the occupied Palestinian territories Sven Kun von Burgsdorff expressed his rejection of the Israeli practices in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of occupied Al-Quds (Jerusalem). He stressed that these practices are contradictory to international law.

During his visit to the neighborhood and the old town in the city, accompanied by a delegation of 25 diplomats from the European Union countries, Burgsdorff said, according to Wafa News Agency, that the Union is doing its best to prevent eviction decisions in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood. He expressed concern about the current situation regarding Israeli occupation’s practices in this neighborhood.

Dozens of Palestinian families in Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood are still facing the threat of forced displacement from their homes as a result of the occupation forces and settlers attacking them and seizing their homes.
