UAE continues to provide assistance to earthquake-affected people in Syria, says Al-Nuaimi

Damascus, (ST) – The Chargé d’Affaires of the UAE Embassy in Damascus, Abdul Hakim Al-Nuaimi affirmed the continuation of the assistance provided by the United Arab Emirates to those affected by the earthquake in Syria, to face the repercussions of this disaster.

Al-Nuaimi said during his visit to the headquarters of the Damascus Chamber of Industry and its countryside on Monday that the aid being provided by his country is a moral commitment towards the brotherly and friendly peoples and that this support will continue in the face of the repercussions of the earthquake, in accordance with the directives of the UAE’s leadership.

For his part, the President of the Federation of the Syrian Chambers of Industry and the President of the Damascus Chamber of Industry and its countryside, Ghazwan Al-Masry praised the great efforts and the volume of aid provided by the UAE. He stressed that it was among the first  countries who sent aid to Syria to face the repercussions of the earthquake.

Al-Masry referred to the steps taken by the Chamber of Industry and the Federation of the Syrian Chambers of Industry to contribute to extending a helping hand to the affected people, by collecting donations and forming a joint working committee that includes all industrial chambers to implement vital projects during the coming period.

During the meeting, the two sides exchanged prospects of future cooperation in the industrial fields because of its benefit to both countries. This cooperation comes within the framework of deepening and strengthening the brotherly relations between Syria and the UAE.
