Lattaki (ST) – Today, a Pakistani aid ship arrived at the port of Lattakia, carrying about 800 tons of relief materials provided by the Pakistani government and people to people affected by the earthquake.
Pakistan’s Ambassador in Damascus Shahid Akhtar told SANA that the aid provided is a gift and a kind of duty towards Syria, which was exposed to the earthquake that increased its suffering, and it is necessary at this time for the international community and the entire world to move and do play its humanitarian duty towards Syria.
The ambassador added that this is the first ship and there are two other ships sailing on the way to Syria. A fourth one is prepared also, he said, pointing out that Pakistan have sent and will continue to send aid planes to provide relief assistance to the affected people.
Serbian aid plane arrives at Damascus International Airport
A Serbian aid plane, carrying relief materials for those affected by the earthquake, arrived this morning at Damascus International Airport.
The Serbian ambassador to Syria, Radovan Stojanovic, said that the plane carried 105 tons of food and medical supplies, including electrocardiogram machines, x-ray devices and other medical equipment sufficient to prepare a field hospital to help provide medical services to the people in the areas affected by the earthquake.
Stojanovic added that this aid is provided by the Serbian government and people, who rushed to collect aid, as an expression of solidarity with the Syrian people. He pointed out that more aid will be provided to support Syria in facing the repercussions of the earthquake.
UAE aid planes arrive in Damascus and Lattakia airports
In the same context, an Emirati plane arrived at Lattakia International Airport carrying 25 tons of relief materials for those affected by the earthquake.
Another Emirati plane arrived at Damascus International Airport, loaded with 29 tons and 400 kilograms of food supplies and water bottles for those affected by the earthquake.
