Bogdanov and Al-Jaafari discuss strengthening Russian-Syrian relations in various fields

Moscow (ST): The Special Representative of the Russian President for the Middle East and African Countries, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov, discussed with the Syrian Ambassador to the Russian Federation, Dr. Bashar Al-Jaafari, during their meeting today, ways to strengthen Russian-Syrian relations in various fields.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement today: “During the talks, they discussed strengthening the Russian-Syrian partnership in various fields, including deepening political dialogue on Middle East issues of common concern.”

In another statement, the ministry referred to discussions Bogdanov held with Turkey’s ambassador to Moscow, Muhammad Samsar, on a political solution to the crisis in Syria, adding: “The focus has been on increasing coordination of efforts to ensure sustainable peace and security in and around Syria in accordance with the principles of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.”
