A team from the Russian Red Cross arrives in Lattakia to provide medical services to those affected by the earthquake

Latakia (ST): A team from the Russian Red Cross, including specialists in several medical fields, arrived in Lattakia Governorate, with the aim of providing medical assistance to those affected by the earthquake.

The Governor of Lattakia, Eng. Amer Hilal met with the Russian delegation headed by Lieutenant General Alexei Pikul, Director of the Emergency Response Department of the Russian Red Cross in the presence of representatives of the Lattakia branch of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent.

The governor expressed his thanks for the great relief efforts provided by the Russian Federation since the moment of the earthquake, as the rescue teams participated in searching for survivors and victims and removing rubble, adding: Its continuation in providing humanitarian and relief support is a continuation of its firm position on the side of Syria.

Meanwhile, in cooperation with the Russian Coordination Center in Syria, the Elizabeth Glinka Charitable Foundation, which was founded by Dr. Lisa in the Russian Federation, and the Russian Sputnik Agency today distributed relief aid to the families affected by the earthquake in the village of Astamu in Qerdaha countryside, including foodstuffs, infant milk and winter clothes.

Vladimir Khavshabo, director of external planning for aid distribution in the Foundation, explained in a statement to news reporter that more than 25 tons of relief and construction materials will be distributed to the affected areas and the institutions therein.
