Arab youth delegations in Damascus: Syria will remain a beacon for all and has offered great sacrifices
Damascus (ST): During their visit this morning to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Damascus, a number of members of the Arab delegations that came to Syria to participate in the Arab Solidarity Youth Forum confirmed that Syria was and still is the beating heart of Arabism and will remain a beacon for all.
The head of the Arab youth delegation and the general supervisor of the Lebanese Forum, Abdullah Abdel Hamid, considered that the visit of the student delegations today is of great importance, as they represent many countries of the Arab nation from its west to its east, pointing out that the siege and war imposed on Syria are the result of its positions and its permanent support for all issues of the Arab nation. He added: “The meeting of the sons of the Arab nation today in Syria expresses our solidarity with it, and let us say to the Syrian people that we are together in the face of all the conspiracies hatched against them.”
In turn, Ahmed Bou Dawoud, a member of the Algerian delegation, said: “We came to Arab Syria to declare our stand and solidarity with its proud people, and to send a message to the so-called (Caesar Act) and those behind it who are trying in vain to overthrow Syria, that Syria today is strong and steadfast and insists on life and work despite the suffering.”
For his part, Ziyad Shawaqfeh, a member of the Jordanian delegation, said: “Syria has offered the Arabs what no other country has offered,” noting that Syria is the resistance that supported the causes of Palestine and fought and is still fighting on behalf of the causes of Arabs and Muslims.
Jamil al-Khalidi, a member of the Yemeni delegation, called on all Arab peoples and governments to support Syria and stand by it in order to lift the coercive measures imposed on it, and for it to return to what it was before 2011. He added: “We came to Syria to show solidarity with it and to lift the sanctions and siege imposed on it. The brotherly Syrian people and the strong Syrian leadership are the safety valve in the Arab world.”
