Hama (ST): The Syria Trust for Development teams are working within a specialized engineering and technical committee consisting of several parties, to preserve the national heritage and protect the archaeological sites that were damaged by “cracks” as a result of the earthquake that the country was exposed to on the 6th of last February.

The Syria Trust indicated in a post on its official Facebook page that the archaeological sites in Hama Governorate and its countryside were not immune to the damage left by the earthquake, as it caused cracks in the stone structure and arches of these sites.

The Trust explained that its teams are currently working within a specialized engineering and technical committee that includes representatives of the Directorate of Antiquities and Museums in the governorate, and a group of experts from governmental and private agencies to preserve the national heritage and protect archaeological sites in the governorate.
