The Indonesian Embassy in Damascus screened“Cemara
The film was screened within the framework of the International Children’s Film Festival, which is organized by the Syrian Diplomatic Clubs and the Syrian Ministry of Education. More than 200 Syrian students and teachers attended the film.
Mrs. Radanti Fauzi Chairperson of DCOS opened the event with a short promotional video about Indonesia in order to introduce Indonesia to high school students.
Mrs. Radyanti said: “I hope that this movie will enrich your knowledge about cultural and social diversity in Indonesia, and catch the similar family value between Indonesian families and Syrian ones . Therefore, those will strengthen the friendships between people of Indonesia and Syria”.
Mr. Maher Farraj, Director of Education in Damascus countryside, emphasized that showing Indonesian films was a great opportunity to motivate students to improve their knowledge of other cultures.
Wajid Fauzi (ambassador of Indonesia )said that although Indonesia and Syria are geographically far apart, the friendship between the two countries has been very deep for a long time.
The evidence for this is that the Indonesian embassy didn’t close even for a moment, since its inauguration and even during the crisis’.
