Water Resources Ministry discusses strengthening cooperation with the FAO in the field of water projects

Minister of Water Resources, Dr. Tammam Raad, discussed with the Resident Representative of the Food and Agriculture Organization at the United Nations (FAO), Michael Robson, ways to enhance cooperation between the two sides in the field of water projects.

Raad stressed the importance of water projects and their role in achieving food security, social stability and the return of the displaced to their areas, pointing to the continuation of cooperation with all international organizations in all fields that benefit the Syrian citizen.

Raad pointed to the effects of the earthquake on water facilities and projects and the need to restore them as quickly as possible, due to its impact on the service and agricultural reality, in addition to continuing work on current projects.

For his part, Robson noted that the organization is working to support efforts to improve the social and economic reality in Syria in cooperation with the relevant ministries, which will reflect positively on the Syrian people, stressing the organization’s readiness to support the implementation of many vital projects for the current year, in addition to assisting in the reconstruction of damaged projects.
