Two aid convoys sent from Damascus countryside governorate to the earthquake-affected people in Aleppo and Lattakia

Damascus countryside, (ST) – This morning, Damascus countryside governorate sent two convoys of relief and humanitarian aid to the governorates of Aleppo and Lattakia. This came within the framework of the national action plan to mitigate the effects of the earthquake and help those affected.

Member of the Executive Office responsible for the social affairs, labor and health sectors, Dr. Alaa Al-Sheikh stated in a statement to SANA reporter that the two convoys consist of 16 large and medium-sized cars carrying medicines, medical equipment, tents, wheelchairs, foodstuffs, clothing, and other basic necessities needed by those affected by the earthquake in shelters and beyond.

Al-Sheikh indicated that the national initiatives and campaigns for providing aid are organized under the supervision of the official authorities in the Damascus Countryside Governorate and the leadership of the Damascus Countryside Branch of the Baath Arab Socialist Party, with the participation of volunteer teams, economic activities and civil associations.
