Khaji and Pedersen stress the need to facilitate sending humanitarian aid to Syria

The senior adviser to the Iranian Foreign Minister for Special Political Affairs Ali Asghar Khaji and the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Syria Geir Pedersen stressed during a telephone conversation today the need to facilitate the sending of aid to the Syrian people after the recent earthquake, and to avoid politicization in this field.

The Iranian IRNA News Agency stated that Khaji and Pedersen discussed the latest developments in the political field and on the ground in Syria, especially after the recent earthquake and the painful humanitarian consequences and the massive human loss and material damage it caused.

Khaji expressed his rejection of the blockade imposed on Syria and all other obstacles facing aid delivery to the country.

Khaji noted the difficult living conditions of the earthquake victims and stressed the need to increase and accelerate the delivery of unconditional international humanitarian aid to Syria.
