MOSCOW – The United States is part of the crisis in Syria not a mediator, so it can’t work seriously to hold the International Conference on Syria (Geneva2), underscored Russian Political Analyst Vladimir Yevsiev, the Director of the Social and Political Studies Center in Russia.
In a recent statement to SANA Correspondent in Moscow, the Russian analyst said that the US should reconsider its relations with Saudi Arabia and Israel as these relations badly influence the American foreign policy.
“It is not possible to talk on holding the international conference on Syria while the United States pays great attention to its regional allies and partners,” the political analyst added, pointing out that “it is difficult to expect positive steps by America within the framework of settling any conflict neither in Syria nor in any other place.”
According to Yevsiev, the current situation in Syria explains clearly that the Syrian Arab Army will gradually siege the “armed groups” and terminate them. He stressed that if this happens the stance of Syrian government will be very strong and then it is possible to talk about holding Geneva2 conference.
He described the US rejection of Iran’s participation in Geneva2 conference and its behavior in this respect as inappropriate, stressing that such a US stance undermines the possibilities of attaining a peaceful solution to the crisis in Syria.
