Participants in Sila exhibition underline importance of their participation in introducing what is new in leather industry
A number of participants in the 15th Sila International Shoe and Leather Exhibition “Spring and Summer 2023” emphasized the importance of participation in terms of promoting and marketing Syrian products and finding new markets by being briefed on what is new in the world of the leather industry, and what distinguishes each participating company.
The exhibition, which is held by the Arab Federation for Leather Industries and organized by the Mashhadani International Group for Exhibitions and Conferences, in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry, on the fairgrounds in Damascus, is attended by 55 local public and private companies from 10 Arab and foreign countries.
In a statement to SANA, Aida Fahd, the financial director of the General Company for Shoe Industry and Tanning, said that the exhibition is an opportunity for all companies to display their latest products and promote meetings between the public and private sectors. She noted that they displayed their products made of natural leather, including jackets and shoes of various types and models, at competitive prices.
For his part, Ali Haidar from Al-Shaddad Company for Shoe Industry, pointed out that the exhibition opened the way for them to display the modern technology that they introduced in their work, which is represented by a “scanner” device to give a correct assessment of shoe sizes, and to design models that are comfortable to walk for those who suffer from foot problems.
Salem Dawlatly, the owner of a factory for the manufacture of leather belts, indicated that he participated more than once in the exhibition, which is a space for exchanging experiences, promoting and marketing their products locally and in foreign markets, and signing commercial agreements in this regard with visitors to the exhibition, including exporters and businessmen.
For his part, Arkan Jumaa, representative of the Iraqi delegation participating in the exhibition, confirmed that their presence today is primarily to support the Syrian people, especially after the humanitarian catastrophe caused by the devastating earthquake. He said, “The mission of the Iraqi delegation is to provide as much support as possible to the Syrians in all fields, and Syria must rise again, we see trade flourishing year after year, and this is how it should be.”
