A solidarity stand was held by the Syrian Communist Party- Unified and the Palestinian factions and forces at “Arnous Square” in Damascus, calling for lifting the unjust blockade imposed by the west on Syria.

The participants warned that maintaining this blockade under the current crisis resulted from the recent earthquake exacerbates and prolongs the suffering of the Syrian people caused by the repercussions of the terrorist war on Syria which has systematically destroyed much of the Syrian infrastructure, thereby impeding the country’s early recovery and reconstruction efforts.
They urged the honorable peoples of the world to support Syria and appealed to the international community to take practical measures as to lift the sanctions which target people in the first place.
A number of Syrian and Palestinian national parties, leaders and representatives of Palestinian factions and forces as well as social and cultural personalities took part in the solidarity stand.
