The situation of workers in the occupied Arab territories, including the occupied Syrian Golan was the topic discussed during a video-conference on Friday held by the Syrian Ministry of Social Affairs and the International Labor Organization (ILO).
The conference brought together Assistant Minister of Social Affairs Muhammad Firas Al-Nabhan, and Director of the ILO’s Department of Meetings, Documents and Official Relations Frank Hagmann and other participants from both sides.
Al-Nabhan reviewed the Zionist entity’s aggressive practices towards the workers in the occupied Syrian Golan and the taxes imposed on them, in addition to the most important decisions and agreements regarding their status.
The Israeli occupation continues with its racist practices against workers, violating the ILO General Conference’s decisions on the condemnation of discrimination as well as violations against workers’ freedoms in the occupied Arab territories, Al-Nabhan said.
The next report must include the conditions of Syrian Arab workers in the occupied territories including all The Israeli violations against them, pointing out that the ILO will be provided with all related documents in order to expose these practices and adopt them as an official document in the next session of the Labor Conference, he added.
For his part, Hagmann said that continuous contacts are very important to know the situation of workers in the occupied Syrian Golan, pointing out that the organization will examine their status as be briefed on their real conditions under occupation.
