Palestinian Foreign Ministry calls for international intervention to lift the Israeli siege on Nablus and Ariha

Occupied Al-Quds, (ST) – The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called for urgent international intervention to lift the siege imposed by the Israeli occupation authorities on the cities of Nablus and Ariha (Jericho) in the West Bank.

In a statement today, reported by Wafa News Agency, the Foreign Ministry considered that this unjust siege on the two cities is a form of collective punishment imposed by force on the Palestinians, including children, women, the sick and the elderly, which disrupts their lives and impedes their ability to access resources of their livelihood and reach schools and hospitals.

The Ministry warned that the siege imposed by the occupation and its consequences and repercussions are a dangerous escalation in the conflict arena.

“These repercussions are considered as a form of apartheid against the Palestinian people,” the ministry said, expressing at the same time its surprise at the silence of the international community and the relevant international organizations and bodies over the occupation’s blockade”.
