Iraq continues to stand by Syria to overcome its ordeal, says Al-Hujaimi

Damascus, (ST) – Minister of Information Boutros Al-Hallaq on Wednesday met with the Chargé d’Affaires of the Iraqi Embassy in Damascus Yassin Sharif Al-Hujaimi in the Information Ministry’s building.

During the meeting, Al-Hujaimi affirmed the continued support of the Iraqi government and people for Syria to overcome the ordeal caused by the devastating earthquake.

Al-Hujaimi conveyed the condolences of the Iraqi government and the Iraqi people over the victims of the earthquake that struck Syria on the sixth of last February. He added that Iraq was proactive in sending humanitarian aid planes to provide relief to those affected by the earthquake.

For his part, Minister Al-Hallaq thanked the Chargé d’Affaires of the Iraqi Embassy, the Iraqi government and people for their honorable stand in support for Syria in its ordeal.

He stressed continuous coordination and cooperation between the two brotherly countries in various fields.
