Egyptian Foreign Ministry: Shoukry to visit Syria to convey message of solidarity after the earthquake
The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry will head to Syria on Monday morning, on a visit to convey Egypt’s message of solidarity with it following the earthquake disaster that occurred on the sixth of this month.
The ministry’s spokesman, Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, said in a statement today: “Shoukry will go to Syria and Turkey tomorrow morning, on a visit aimed at conveying a message of solidarity from Egypt with the two countries and their two brotherly peoples, following the catastrophe of the earthquake that left heavy losses.”
Abu Zeid added: “It is expected that the Foreign Minister will affirm, in his meetings with both Syria and Turkey, Egypt’s permanent readiness to provide aid and assistance to the people in the affected areas of the two countries, and that the Egyptian government and people cannot be late even for a day in supporting its brothers.”
