The Ministry of Education honored the Pakistan medical and relief teams after completing their humanitarian missions in helping those affected by the earthquake.
In a statement to reporters from Damascus International Airport, Assistant Minister of Education, Dr. Mahmoud Bani Marjeh, praised the efforts of the two Pakistani teams in helping those afflicted by the disaster and their dedication to their work in difficult weather conditions to rescue those trapped under the rubble.
He referred to the technical expertise provided by the two teams to the Syrian side, especially to the medical teams from the Ministries of Health and Education, and their training of civil defense technicians, pointing out that the response of the Pakistani people from the first moments reflects the depth of relations and the brotherhood of the Syrian and Pakistani people.
For his part, Shahid Akhtar, the Pakistani ambassador to Damascus, thanked Syria for hosting the medical and relief teams, pointing to the great donations offered by the Pakistani people, whether cash or in-kind assistance, after the Pakistani Prime Minister allocated a fund for relief to those affected by the earthquake in Syria.
Akhtar pointed out that his country will send a ship that will soon arrive to the port of Lattakia, carrying a very large amount of aid, in addition to the shipments of assistance provided by Pakistan, through the four flights to Syria. The national Pakistan Airlines company has been allocated its regular flights, where every flight will be loaded with additional relief aid to those affected.
