Army continues mop-up operations nationwide

PROVINCES, (ST)- The army units continued their daring operations against the armed terrorist groups in several areas on Wednesday, killing dozens of terrorists ,foiling their infiltration attempts, and destroying heavy weaponry.

In Aleppo, “the army destroyed terrorists’ rocket launchers pads, mortar launchers and vehicles loaded with weapons in the areas of al-Jadida, Kweris, Rasm al-Abboud, Aleppo Central Prison, Kifr Da’el and on Khan al-Assal-al-Mansoura and Aleppo-Damascus highways.And the army targeted terrorists groupings  in the areas of Khan al-Assal, al-Kindi Hospital, Tallat Azzan, al-Marjeh and Bustan al-Qasr, Umayyad Mosque, Antakya School, al-Fateh Institute and al-Lairamon,” a military source told the official news agency.

In Idleb, a military source said that the army units eliminated terrorists’ groupings in the areas of al-Arba’een Mount, Areha, al-Nahleh, Nahlaya and Bazabour, killing scores of the terrorists and destroying their weaponry and equipment.

In Damascus Countryside, A unit of the armed forces on Wednesday eliminated an armed terrorist group that tried to infiltrate from Tal al-Haradin into Kanaker in Damascus Countryside and seized narcotic pills and weapons, a military source said.

“the seized weapons included a machinegun base mounted on a 4WD car, sniper rifles, automatic rifles, BKC machineguns and RPG launchers, in addition to seizing narcotic pills and leaflets for Jabhat al-Nusra,”added the source.

In Homs, the army units foiled terrorists’ attempts to infiltrate the Syrian lands from Lebanon and destroyed terrorists’ gatherings and hideouts in many areas in Homs.

Elsewhere ,the army achieved significant advance in the areas of Maheen ,al-Dweir, al-Khaldyeh, Bab Hud and Deir Foul in al- Rastan as they eliminated countless number of terrorists.

In Hasaka countryside, two groupings were smashed at the hands of the army in the village of Maghloujeh in the western countryside side of Hasaka province and in Tal Barrak in its northern countryside.

The army destroyed a terrorist hideout used by terrorists from “Liwa’a al-Tawhid” In the village of Tal Eid in Qamishli countryside .
